SUBJECT:     Request Payment for Change Order, Abey Arnold Associates

 

 

RECOMMENDATION

 

That the JPA approve payment for change order #1 received from Abey Arnold Associates for landscape architectural services in the amount of $8,000.

 

BACKGROUND

 

The JPA contracted with Abey Arnold Associates to provide landscape design services for the Red Hill Park project for the amount of $46,400.  The additional $8,000 represents work completed beyond of the scope of the original contract which included design changes and perspective rendering.

 

DISCUSSION & ANALYSIS

 

As a result of feedback from various community organizations and members of the public, there were several recommendations that required a change in design to the park.  Abey Arnold Associates incorporated the feedback into a revised design and updated the perspective rendering.  These services were in addition to services provided for in the contract.

 

In reviewing the change order request, you will notice that Abey Arnold and Associates have done a great deal of work outside of the scope of the contract.  Peter Arnold has attended numerous meetings and provided additional services beyond the requirements of the contract and has done as pro bono service.  Abey Arnold and Associates have generously donated over $20,000 worth of in-kind services to this project.
